mGTD2: GTD for Moleskine v2.0

Stefanos Karagos | November 11, 2007

Trying to integrate the GTD method into my Moleskine planner, I designed one year ago, a "GTD" A5-sized sheet which helped me on my daily efforts to apply the GTD procedure.

The idea behind was, that if the Moleskine planner itself, is the
"basket" where we collect the everyday "stuff", then the only thing we
need is to have an easy reachable place for the lists of: Actions,
Waiting for and Someday/Maybe entries
.

After some weeks that the first beta version was out, I released the
version 1.0, and the name of this handfull paper tool became mGTD.

Well, after many months, I designed the new version of mGTD, [mGTD2], and I have to admit that is more useful than ever.

The improvements from the version 1.0 are:
1. Rounded corners! [yes we all love these ;-)
2. Now you can choose between an actions list sheet that includes
"Waiting for" and "Some Day- Maybe" fields or a new version with two
sheets [one with actions list and another one with "Waiting for" and
"Some Day- Maybe" lists ]
3. Now we have 3 different color versions: Red, Green, Blue [Orange
was abandoned]
5. Each page has crop marks for easy cutting
6. Each version has the main mGTD page and also 3 more back-page options:
a. a daily scheduler,
b. a contact names page and
c. a new design as a mindmaping playground!

If you want to have an idea about the mGTD system, take a look at the
following images:

And if you are ready to use the mGTD2 system here are the PDF files, ready for printing:
PDFs: Red | Green | Blue

But now mGTD has a pocket version!
Take a look at the bellow images and if you use a pocked size
Moleskine, you just found your best GTD helper!
[Print it into an A4 paper and fold it!]

PDFs: Red | Green | Blue

UPDATE:

A new modified blue pocket version just uploaded, here.

Stay tuned!

So now, you can have the mGTD version which fits better
to your daily needs ;-)

PS: Special thanks to Diana for her help to the design of the mGTD project!

Hi, I have been using a moleskine type diary to put down my Stuff - which includes everything = ToDos, Ideas, Blog thoughts etc. What I need to know is how does this GTD prints help me do better with my already existing moleskine usage for GTD.

Will appreciate if you can share some more clarity on the "stuff" and ToDos, Maybes etc.

I use the mGTD with my Moleskine diary (one week on two pages) and a cahier for notetaking (inbox). On the mGTD I put al my Next Actions, waiting for.. and someday/maybe. I fold it to make it fit my pocket-version Moleskine and put it in the Moleskine on the current week.

I print the mGTD on coloured paper so I can spot my NA everywhere !

Am I missing something? Are these supposed to fit into the large notebooks, cahiers, or are the just in addition to the moleskine? I cut one down and it is too large for my large notebook.

When folded, the four parts of the mGTD page (printed on A4) do not align properly. Do the standard print margins need to be changed?

Do you think you can make a version which is black&white printing friendly?

Ok, I have been looking high and low for colored templates. These are so awesome. You have done an excellent job. I think these will be a perfect fit for me.

However, I do not use a Moleskine. Is there any way to print or adjust these for 4x6 index cards?

Thanks so much

@ Tasha:
Thank you very much for your comment!
Unfortunately [or fortunately :-)] mGTD system is exclusive for Moleskine's notebooks users.
Thanks for understanding.

You are welcome! They really are outstanding.

Gosh, I understand [don't want to,though :)]

Would you be ok if I created a personal template similar to yours?

Ok, but I don't think I have the right software to create those round corners. MS Publisher does not seem flexible.

Stefanos your job for mGTD is really great as I am a Moleskine user but not currenlty a GTD user can you please give me some tips on how to start useing this method. The reading of David Allen bood GTD is a good start or there is a better way than this?

Elias, the reading of Allen book is the best start to GTDing.
Also take a look here: http://anabubula.com/content/GTD-wallpaper
for a quick GTD overview.

Hi!

Thank you for your nice work, just put the red template on the colour printer and cutted them to size and I'm really satisfied because it looks so fancy.
One little thing would make the handling much easier:
Can you please provide crop marks also on the pocket version for the cahiers?

It would be really nice to get them instantly on exactly the same size without trimming and so on.

P.S.: Keep doing this, its really a nice helper!
